ST always seem to create new and inventive ways in which to make the stretches more effective and accessible through constant evaluation and curiosity. It is a tried and tested approach which respects every individual's level of proficiency.

It's a very rich system that encourages self therapy by means of exploration, observation, playfulness, development amongst other things. The content is very informative whilst remaining clear and focused. It's a toolkit that can be drawn upon time and time again which encourages the user to be active and take responsibility for their feelings and relationship with the physical body.

I've had difficulty with flexibility for most of my adult life, and despite trying several different programs, I seemed to wind up more stiff and sore afterwards, so I didn't stay consistent. I like ST mainly because it worries more about the technique first, then Kit and Liv go into the why as you progress. There is also a variety of stretches and levels of difficulty to choose from, so I feel less like I 'have to do program X today' when I'm really sore and more like 'it's okay to dial back today'. What I like most is that I've never gotten a hint of elitism from any of the presenters. If I take a little longer, it's okay; I don't feel like I'm not 'doing it right' or not 'working hard enough', which oddly enough encourages me to review more and make sure I'm getting the most out of the stretches. 

To me ST seems highly focused on pain relief and takes a very practical approach to achieving its goals. The movements are presented clearly and concisely. The instructors know exactly what they are aiming to accomplish with the movements. I suppose the focus on pain relief coupled with the knowledge and experience of the instructors are what defines ST for me. I need to fix my body and I have a limited time to spend doing that. ST has earned my confidence and I believe in its ability to help me meet my goal without a bunch of guess work.
